Royal British Legion Bar Refurbishment, Ruislip

Restoring a Well-Used Bar to Its Former Glory

Brewsters Decorating Contractors were asked to refurbish the timber bar at the Royal British Legion Club in Ruislip after years of daily use had left the surface worn, scratched and tired.

The aim was to restore the bar while preserving its original character, creating a smart, hard-wearing finish that would stand up to the demands of a busy members’ club.

The Project

The existing finish was carefully removed before the timber was sanded back to expose the natural wood beneath. Years of old coatings and wear were stripped away to create a smooth, even surface ready for refinishing.

Once the preparation work was complete, the bar was treated and finished with a durable protective coating designed to enhance the natural grain while providing long-lasting protection against everyday use.

The result was a refreshed bar that looks clean, welcoming and ready for many more years of service.

The Finished Result

The transformation completely revitalised the centrepiece of the club. The restored timber finish brings warmth back into the room while maintaining the traditional character of the venue.
